Winona Guy is a passionate climate activist and our environment and natural world feed very much into her practice.
Her choreographic work is often focused on environmental themes, and her practice often considers new ways of holding space, being, and supporting one another, people and planet, that align better with our finite resources, energy and notions of attention and care.
Winona is interested in developing sustainable practices within the arts and theatre, and is keen to develop work as an environmental consultant and advocate within the arts. Winona is keen to help individual artists through to larger arts organisations to find new and sustainable ways of making work. Creating green, sustainable and ethical working methods are essential for the future of art, our communities and our planet. As a South-West based artist, Winona also works to place more value in what local and regional art representation and support can look like.
Beyond her work as an artist, Winona Guy is also an freelance Environmental Officer & Facilitator and has delivered a number of workshops, classes, events and task days for volunteers, community groups, school and young people focused on environmental action, practical outdoor learning, biodiversity, social wellbeing and climate change.
